During a recent interview with CBS News, Hollywood actor Tom Hanks was asked about the current presidential election, and more specifically, what he thought about Donald Trump possibly being elected into office, and his answer might surprise you.
The CBS News hosts seemed to do everything they could to get Hanks to say something against Trump, but their efforts didn’t pay off too well. While the Oscar-winning actor didn’t go as far as endorsing Trump for president, he did say that America would be “just fine” if it happened.
“Look, America’s going to be fine,” said the 59-year-old actor. “We’re the greatest, most resilient nation in the history of all of civilization. We’ll be fine.”
“I have no powers of clairvoyance like you geniuses in the news media,” he said. “I’m not saying he’s going to be president of the United States.”
“What I’m saying is we are going to have the most hilarious September, October and first week of November in a very long time,” added Hanks. “And you people are going to be exhausted.”
