Red-blooded patriot and country superstar Toby Keith took to social media earlier this week to share absolutely devastating news with the country, and he need everyone’s prayers.
Keith, who’s known for the songs “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” and “Made in America,” took to Facebook earlier this week to share with his fans the devastating loss of one of his beloved band members, Joey Floyd.
“Our dear friend and band member Joey Floyd passed away this morning after a long battle with cancer,” Keith posted to Facebook on Sunday. “There will be a hole on stage and a hole in the hearts of all that loved him. Rest in peace ol’ friend.”
Floyd was both a fiddle and a banjo player for Keith’s Easy Money Band, and was well-known throughout the country music industry after performing with other legends such a Willie Nelson. The shocking news undoubtedly hit Keith hard, but he said he still plans on keeping with his scheduled stops on his current tour.
Sadly, this isn’t the cowboy’s first rodeo when it comes to losing his friends either. In 2013, he was also devastated when long-time companion and bassist for his band, Chuck Goff Jr., died in a car accident.
This American patriot needs our prayers more than ever to stay strong for his fans and continue on with his tour.
