As the country is recovering from the shock of five officers being murdered in cold-blood by a racist black man, news is coming out of Tennessee about another shooting rampage by a racist black man, but the mainstream media hasn’t touched it yet.
According to WCYB, 37-year-old Lakeem Keon Scott was upset about the recent shooting deaths of two black men by police, so he did what any sane and reasonable person would do and wrote to his local lawmakers to demand change. Just kidding. He grabbed his guns then went on a shooting rampage through town and killed a white woman.
Scott started his rampage at a Days Inn in Bristol, where he fired shots through the front window and injured the woman at the front desk, then drove around randomly firing shots at vehicles before getting into a confrontation with police. Sadly, 44-year-old Jennifer Rooney happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and while she was delivering papers on an early morning route, she was killed by Scott in her vehicle.
Police ended up intercepting Scott as he drove along a local highway. He was shot several times and taken to the hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
Scott fired at the three officers who were attempting to arrest him, and one of them, Matthew Cousins, was hit in the leg but didn’t suffer any major injuries. Another victim, David Davis, was injured from flying glass from the gunfire.
The incident happened just hours before a racist black man went on a rampage and massacred five police officers in Dallas, Texas, but hasn’t been widely reported. Scott’s motive wasn’t initially known, but after investigators were able to speak with him in the hospital they discovered that he had become enraged about the recent officer-involved shootings of black men across the country.
Apparently Scott was targeting white people in his rampage as some sort of revenge for the killing of blacks by police. Fortunately, he was stopped before he could kill any more people, but it’s rather chilling that this is the second such incident that has occurred due to the recent police shootings.
So here’s two shootings in a week that were both motivated by the same thing – the racist, anti-cop rhetoric being espoused by Black Lives Matter – yet what many people, including Obama, keep talking about is more gun control, as if that will do anything at all to stop violent people from being violent. A much better idea would be to start condemning those who call for violence against police, condemning those who hold racist, anti-white beliefs, and stop stirring the pot when it comes to racial issues in our nation, because these are what led to this week’s violent outbursts.
Just like in Orlando, the problem isn’t the weapons that were used by violent people, it’s the ideologies the violent people had that led them to harm others. Until you eradicate their ideologies from our society, nothing is going to prevent them from committing such atrocious acts, since as we all know, where there’s a will, there’s a way. Just ask the brothers who bombed the Boston Marathon.
