President Donald Trump has been trying his best to make good on his campaign promises, one of which was reigning in the out of control EPA, which saw its size and authority grow exponentially during Obama’s tenure.
The job-killing, industry-stifling agency has kneecapped our nation’s economy through cumbersome regulations and anti-growth policies. That’s not to mention, it found itself in the middle of quite a few scandals over the past eight years, and now Americans are fed up with the activist arm of the government.
Thankfully, we now have a president who sees the immense waste of money and manpower the EPA has become, and he actually wants to do something about it. His first move was putting Scott Pruitt at the top of the agency to start draining its internal swamp, and that apparently has its employees terrified over what’s to come.
Good. For eight years businesses and homeowners alike have lived in fear of the bureaucracy’s heavy hand coming down on them for something as innocuous as collecting rainwater, and now the shoe is on the other foots.
More from the Daily Caller:
The head of the EPA’s environmental justice program resigned Thursday over concerns President Donald Trump might slash funding for the 24-year-old project.
Mustafa Ali, a former senior to the administrator responsible for directing the agency’s actions protecting minority communities, stepped down in a letter to EPA administrator Scott Pruitt. He also voiced concern the Pruitt plans on gutting the project.
Don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya, Ali. Take your environmental activism somewhere else, because it certainly doesn’t belong in our government.
With President Trump proposing massive budget cuts to the EPA in his budget proposal for the year, Ali’s departure is likely just the beginning of what’s going to be a thorough house cleaning, and it couldn’t have happened to a better agency.
