Breaking news is coming out of Washington D.C., where there appears to be an active shooter situation.
Reports on exactly what’s happening are slim, but Capitol Police have ordered members of Congress to shelter in place and the White House has been placed on lockdown after shots were fired at the Visitor’s Center on Capitol Hill. Mediate is reporting that an email sent out by police announced they “are locking down the entire U.S. Capitol Complex due to a potential security threat.”
Nobody is allowed to enter or exit any of the congressional office bulildings and those outside are told to seek cover. A television report from Fox News stated that at least one officer was wounded in the shooting as well, although his injuries are said to not be life-threatening.
