Barack Obama’s diplomacy with other nations was weak, at best, and at worst it was the display of total incompetence on every level, which is why Americans should be rejoicing at having a new commander-in-chief.
Three years ago, American citizen Aya Hijazi was arrested by the Egyptian government after it accused her of child abuse and trafficking charges, which the U.S. government categorically denied as false. However, despite the Obama administration knowing the 30-year-old was innocent, it was either unable or unwilling to do what it took to secure the young woman’s release, so she has been rotting in an Egyptian prison ever since.
What a difference an election makes.
Now, less than 100 days into his first term, President Trump has gone above and beyond to ensure the safe return of one of our own. After striking a deal with Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sissi, an Egyptian court dropped all of the charges against Hijazi and a U.S. government aircraft was dispatched to go pick her up with a personal escort from Air Force Maj. Wes Spurlock.
How cool is that?
More from the Daily Caller:
Trump sent a U.S. government airplane to bring Hijazi and her family back home Thursday night. They were reportedly personally escorted by Air Force Maj. Wes Spurlock, and landed in Washington about 10 p.m.
She is expected to visit the White House Friday.
“It’s been a roller coaster of emotions the past couple of days,” her brother told the Washington Post.
“We’re very grateful that President Trump personally engaged with the issue. Working closely with the Trump administration was very important for my family at this critical time. It let us be reunited as a family. We’re so grateful.”
What a difference an election makes, indeed. In less than three months, President Trump has done more for this country than all of Obama’s eight years, and the release of Hijazi is evidence of it.
While Obama spent his time golfing and getting traitors like Bowe Bergdahl freed in exchange for the release of five terrorists, Trump has been laser-focused on America and serving our best interests. When he said he was going to Make America Great Again he meant it, and that’s real change we can believe in.
