Hillary Clinton thought her email troubles were behind her after FBI Director Comey announced he wouldn’t be recommending charges against her.
Apparently, she was wrong…dead wrong.
As many are aware, Wikileaks has been releasing troves of emails all showing what Comey said was lacking – intent – and now the bureau just made a devastating announcement; it’s reopening the investigation into her emails. In a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee, Comey stated that emails from a separate investigation (implying there’s more than one currently in progress) have led to the bureau’s decision to reopen the matter and look at Hillary’s server even closer than they previously have.
Comey said he’s unsure of how long the new investigation will take. However, he said they’re trying to determine if the new emails contain classified or other sensitive information.
NBC News has more:
“In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation … I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation,” he wrote.
