CNN is coming off of one of the worst months in the network’s history, and things aren’t getting any better for them after what happened as they covered President Trump’s arrival in France.
Poppy Harlow was reporting live on the President’s arrival to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron to celebrate Bastille Day, when the orchestra started playing our own National Anthem. President Trump and Macron shook hands as the band played its first notes, and Harlow told everyone that they were going to go silent to listen to the playing of the French National Anthem…seriously.
CNN anchor Poppy Harlow doesn't know the difference between the Star-Spangled Banner and the French national anthem.

From Fox News:
Trump is in France to meet with President Emmanuel Macron, before celebrating Bastille Day together. Trump and Macron shook hands during the arrival, and a band played the United States’ national anthem.
But despite Harlow’s pedigreed education at Minneapolis’ exclusive Blake School and the prestigious Columbia University, she seemed to not realize it was her country’s national anthem.
Harlow voiced over the event: “Let’s just listen in to the French National Anthem for just a moment.”
It was moments before Harlow noticed her mistake. Whispers could be heard in the background of the CNN set, and Harlow corrected the error.
“The U.S., American national anthem, I should say,” Harlow said with a chuckle. “Let’s listen.”
Lovely, eh? Makes you wonder what it is they’re teaching at colleges, if “educated” broadcasters such as Harlow can’t even recognize the Star Spangled Banner, doesn’t it?
