Tragedy ripped through the home of rock star Kid Rock in Tennessee on Monday.
Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, was at his estate late Monday evening when he walked outside to discover his close friend and personal assistant, 30-year-old Michael Sacha, lying alongside his driveway. The Tennessean reported that Sacha was unresponsive when first responders arrived, and they determined that he had died prior to them getting to the scene.

Sacha was apparently escorting Ritchie’s guests to the street on an ATV around midnight after a massive cookout at the home, where they were said to have met an Uber vehicle for a ride home. On his way back to the estate, he lost control of the vehicle and was ejected, leading police to rule his death an accident.
In a statement on his website, Ritchie said that he was “beyond devastated,” and that he wanted to cear up any rumors that he was involved in the accident. He also called for people to respect the privacy of him and Sacha’s families.
“He was a member of our family and one of the greatest young men I have ever had the pleasure to not only work with, but also to become friends with,” he said. “I know I speak for us all in sharing my deepest condolences to his family. I cannot imagine how they must feel.”
Rock plans to stay in Tennessee until he can get “[Sacha] home to his family.”
“We’ve already been contacted by the press asking if it was me who was in the accident, so I want to stop any rumors before they spread,” Ritchie said. “I’m asking everyone to please respect our and his family’s privacy in this difficult time. RIP Mike. We will never forget you, my friend.”
