The anti-Trump protests in Portland, Oregon have been spearheaded by 23-year-old Micah Rhodes, and he’s not exactly who you’d want as the face of your movement.
Rhodes leads the group Portland’s Resistance, and he was due in court on Monday on charges of the sexual abuse of a minor. The Daily Caller reports that he was already a registered sex offender before being charged again for sexual assault, and he’s also been arrested after lashing out during one of his anti-Trump protests.
Swell guy, eh? As it turns out, Rhodes met a male minor through the gay dating app Grindr, and despite knowing the victim was a minor he proceeded to have sex with him. He was taken into custody on Jan. 25 for the charges, which include statutory, non-forced rape, and now he’s facing quite a jail sentence after already being a sex offender.

Portland has been a city that’s seen ongoing violent protests against President Trump despite the fact that in earlier protests those arrested didn’t even vote. So aside from being plagued by violence, now the movement is being plagued by having a registered, repeat sex offender as its face.
That’s a great way to get Americans to be sympathetic to your cause, wouldn’t you say?
