President Trump just scored a major political win from the Supreme Court.
For months, Democrats have judge shopped to get favorable rulings in regards to his ban on travel from countries lacking organized governments, and so far they’ve seen relative success as liberal judges ruled outside of the Constitution to block certain aspects of it. But on Monday, the nation’s highest court decided to hear the case this fall, but not before reinstating the President’s plan.
This is huge.
From Fox News:
The court’s decision means the justices will now wade into the biggest legal controversy of the Trump administration — Trump’s order temporarily restricting travel from six Muslim-majority countries.
“An American individual or entity that has a bona fide relationship with a particular person seeking to enter the country as a refugee can legitimately claim concrete hardship if that person is excluded,” the Court wrote. “As to these individuals and entities, we do not disturb the injunction. But when it comes to refugees who lack any such connection to the United States, for the reasons we have set out, the balance tips in favor of the Government’s compelling need to provide for the Nation’s security.”
Just like that, months of leftist whining about unfairness and discrimination have been shot down, giving the President a massive political victory.
In October, the court will hear arguments from both sides as to the Constitutionality of the order. However, given that statutory law expressly grants the President almost unilateral authority to set immigration policy, Trump is bound to have yet another YUUUGE victory then.
