Liberals have come completely unglued after losing the election. They’re throwing what’s been the world’s longest temper tantrum after Trump’s historic win.
However, it’s one thing for them to cry and complain – that’s what liberals do – but it’s something completely different when they start posing a threat to our representative republic, which is what they’re doing now. In lock-step, they’ve been bitching about the Electoral College as if the popular vote means anything under our system of equal representation, even though it doesn’t.
But now, in a last-ditch effort to steal the election from Trump and his loyal base, they’re demanding the Electoral College vote be postponed. Why? The Russians, of course.
Take a look at this report from the liberal Huffington Post:
The December 19 Electoral College Vote Must Be Postponed Until We Figure Out What’s Going On With Russian Electoral Interference
In a post-truth political sphere, it’s almost impossible to find consensus.
Trump won the Electoral College resoundingly; Clinton won the popular vote by millions. Trump’s November 8th coalition comprised as unusual and diverse an ideological coalition as the U.S. has seen; nearly half of Clinton voters thought Sanders should’ve been the Dem nominee.
But here are three things all Americans, no matter their politics, agree on:
Foreign governments should play no role in the outcome of American elections.
No person should ascend to the presidency due to the interference of a hostile foreign government.
We have absolutely no idea whether a foreign government played a role in the outcome of the recent general election, and therefore we have no idea whether a political candidate is about to ascend to the presidency due to the interference of a hostile foreign government.
So to what end are they trying to push this? To unseat Trump? Overturn the results?
They claim they merely want transparency, that the electors should be fully informed, and that they’re not trying to alter the election’s outcome. But if that’s the case, then why push to postpone the vote? If you believe Trump should be president, that the people voted in a fair election, and that the electors should vote how the people mandated them to, then why all the fuss?
Trump is getting inaugurated in January, so people, please, stop with this kind of garbage. We’re supposed to be coming together after a tough election and all you’re doing is driving us further apart.
