During a joint press conference on Monday, Barack Obama and Raul Castro took questions from the press in Cuba, and Castro had no issues blasting the U.S. on a number of issues. But you have to hear the disgusting response Obama had to actually believe it.
While most of us would expect an American president to stand up for our nation during a visit to a communist dictatorship, apparently Obama doesn’t feel as if he’s required to do so. In fact, not only did he fail to stick up for the greatest nation on the planet, that’s lifted more people out of poverty than any other, he flat-out admitted that he agrees with Castro’s criticisms.
Check it out:
“President Castro, I think, has pointed out that in his view making sure that everybody is getting a decent education or health care, has basic security and old age, that those things are human rights as well,” said Obama. “I personally would not disagree with him.”
Lovely. This comes after he had a picture taken with a sculpture of Che Guevara, the brutal Marxist revolutionary, in the background, as if to send the message that Guevara is someone he holds in high regard. The symbolism behind such a picture is already bad, but what he said after welcoming Castro’s criticisms will leave you floored – he wants to “learn” from Cuba.
“But it doesn’t detract from some of these other concerns. And the goal of the human rights dialogue is not for the United States to dictate to Cuba how they should govern themselves, but to make sure that we are having a frank and candid conversation around this issue,” Obama said. ”And hopefully that we can learn from each other.”
Did any of you ever think you’d see the day that a sitting U.S. president said he wanted to “learn” from a brutal communist regime? Yeah. If that’s not terrifyingly un-American, then I’m not entirely sure what is.
Oh yeah, then there’s this, which happened at the end of the press conference. As the two men were getting ready to depart the stage, Obama went limp-wristed like a teenage groupie at a pop concert.
And they say Donald Trump isn’t presidential? Please.
