The country is going insane…quite literally.

Over the weekend, we watched a carefully orchestrated narrative emerge after violent leftists arrived in Charlottesville to disrupt a permitted protest over the removal of a Confederate monument honoring General Robert E. Lee. No sooner than the violence erupted did the media have its meticulously-crafted talking points ready to go, blaming the “white supremacists” for everything that happened while exonerating those on the left of any and all violence.

The media’s efforts were to take attention away from the original cause of the protests – the removal of American history, which has little support among the public – and instead redirect attention to the EEEEEVIILLL RAAACISTS! who dared express their beliefs in a peaceful manner. In the aftermath, there’s already been calls to remove other Confederate monuments, much like what happened after the Charleston shooting, and a group of radical leftists even removed a Confederate monument in Durham, N.C.

Now the hysteria over all things Confederate has taken a turn straight into something out of an Orwell novel.

Black Lives Matter is not only calling for Confederate history to be removed from the public sphere, but to have all Confederate symbolism outlawed, just like Germany did to Nazi symbolism after WWII.

Seriously.

Of course, liberal supporters of the domestic terrorist group were all too happy to jump on board with the anti-American idea.

More on the outrageous demand from the Daily Caller:

Germany banned Nazi symbolism just after World War II ended.

The United States Civil War ended over 150 years ago.

The Black Lives Matter movement began in 2013 as a social media hashtag — #BlackLivesMatter — after a jury acquitted George Zimmerman in the shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

The group gained national prominence during a days-long series of demonstrations in Ferguson, Missouri after white police officer Darren Wilson shot Michael Brown, an 18-year-old black male, on Aug. 9, 2014.

Black Lives Matter demonstrators marched through Ferguson’s streets, chanting, “no justice, no peace” and “hands up, don’t shoot.”

In November 2014, incredibly intense violence broke out on the streets after the St. Louis County prosecutor’s office announced that Wilson would face no criminal charges for shooting and killing Brown.

Police had completely lost control of Ferguson about 90 minutes after the grand jury announcement. Looting was widespread. Cars, including police cars, were set on fire. Several buildings were set ablaze and severely damaged.

Yeah. Those are the people who want to outlaw something they find uncomfortable.

Meanwhile, a black Democrat leader by the name of Stacey Abrams, who’s running for Georgia governor, called for Stone Mountain to have the carvings of Confederate soldiers removed.

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams called for the removal of the giant carving that depicts three Confederate war leaders on the face of state-owned Stone Mountain, saying it “remains a blight on our state and should be removed.”

“We must never celebrate those who defended slavery and tried to destroy the union,” Abrams said in a series of tweets posted early Tuesday, a response to the deadly violence sparked by white supremacist groups in Charlottesville, Va.

These people keep poking the bear like this, and soon enough something really bad is going to happen. Removing our history does nothing to help anyone, and only serves to enrage those who see these symbols as a part of their own heritage, but because they’re white people nobody seems to care.

The double standards in this country, brought to us by the left, are absolutely sickening.
