Kellyanne Conway is better at handling the media’s incessant attacks than just about anyone else, and she proved it today when she appeared on CNN to talk to anchor Chris Cuomo.
The host of “New Day” didn’t quite know what to think after Conway actually asked him if he was embarrassed to work for the embattled network, which led to him making an utterly outrageous claim that has people across the web cracking up.
The segment started with the two speaking about Donald Trump, Jr.’s tweet about meeting with a Russian lawyer, but it quickly devolved into Cuomo having to defend his network’s horrible reputation.
“I admire your moxie sitting there with the CNN chyron, talking about credibility,” Conway said.
“I couldn’t be more proud to have the CNN chyron next to me,” Cuomo responded.
Cuomo then tried to lay blame with the White House for being too aggressive with its attacks on the press, leading President Trump’s supporters to believe the media is made up of “bad people.” However, his follow up remark was one for the ages – CNN is the “symbol of accountability.”
“My conscience is clean, my mission is clear,” Cuomo said. “What I do is I cover what I think matters to people.”
“I test power and I take the consequence … Whatever CNN has done wrong it has owned in a way that is a symbol of accountability for the country, by the way,” he argued. “It would be nice if everyone that was wrong handled it the way CNN did.”
