With each day that passes we seem to get a new reason not to send our children to the indoctrination centers known as American universities, and today is no different.
Students at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, a liberal arts school (whatever the hell that is), displayed just how insane the left has become when they revolted after a professor dared criticize an event that “invited” (read: demanded) white people to leave the campus for a day. Biology professor Bret Weinstein didn’t think the Day of Absence was a good idea because it basically amounted to reverse discrimination, and apparently that makes him a racist, or something.
The response to his criticism has been apoplectic, with up to 200 students gathering outside of his classroom to demand both his apology and resignation, but that’s not all. The temper tantrum spread throughout the school as students were seen taking over classrooms, barricading the college president’s office, and shutting down the library…all because of a single email.
A video posted to Facebook shows Weinstein trying to reason with the unreasonable students, and as you’d expect it didn’t get him very far. In fact, one of the students can be heard shouting at Weinstein that they have no interest in listening to a word he says, because he’s an EEEEEEVVVVVIILLL racist!
From the Daily Mail:
‘There’s a difference between debate and dialectic. Debate means you are trying to win, dialectic means you are using disagreement to discover what is true,’ the professor told the students gathered outside his classroom.
‘I am not interested in debate. I am only interested in dialectic, which does mean I listen to you, and you listen to me.’
One student responded: ‘We don’t care what terms you want to speak on. This is not about you. We are not speaking on terms—on terms of white privilege. This is not a discussion. You have lost that one.’
Some of the students in the video defended their professor, but others can be heard shouting at him before they walk out.
According to Heat Street, the Day of Absence was traditionally organized by minority students, who left campus for a day to show the impact of their not being around. However, the organizers this year decided they would do the opposite, and they “invited” white students and teachers to leave instead.
Weinstein thought that would have the opposite effect.
His email to the faculty read:
‘There is a huge difference between a group or coalition deciding to voluntarily absent themselves from a shared space in order to highlight their vital and under-appreciated roles… and a group or coalition encouraging another group to go away.
‘The first is a forceful call to consciousness which is, of course, crippling to the logic of oppression. The second is a show of force, and an act of oppression in and of itself,’ he wrote in the email.
He added: ‘On a college campus, one’s right to speak — or to be — must never be based on skin color.’
Things became so unhinged at the school that Weinstein, a professor of 15 years at Evergreen, was forced to hold his classes off-campus because he didn’t feel safe.
All because of an email…
A comment from one of the protesting students exemplified the sheer lunacy of this entire incident.
“If he feels unsafe or frightened for two days, he can only imagine what black and brown bodies have feared for years,” the student said, without mentioning or acknowledging the fact that for the most part we have a racism-free society.
But this is today’s left in a nutshell; a spoiled, entitled, and insane group of people devoid of reason and logic and lacking any true coping skills. Mere emails send them off the deep end and even the thought of racism is enough to make them apoplectic.
Worse yet, instead of learning real-world skills that will make them useful and productive members of society, they’re being inundated with social justice bullshit that’s only going to turn them into perpetual leeches and unemployable morons.
After all, would you want to work with or hire someone like this? Yeah, most other people wouldn’t either.
Parents, do yourselves a favor and get your kids out of these schools ASAP.
