In the aftermath of the massacre of five Dallas police officers at a Black Lives Matter protest, a federal government police union requested that Barack Obama turn the outside lights of the White House blue to honor their sacrifices, and you have to see his response to believe it.
To his credit, Obama did order the flag to be flown at half-staff to honor the fallen heroes, who lost their lives protecting the rights of others, but that’s pretty much where he ended it. Yeah, even though he turned the White House rainbow colors to celebrate the Supreme Court ruling that created gay marriage rights, he refused to illuminate the People’s House with the color blue as a nation mourns fallen officers.
Here’s the request from Jon Adler, president of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association, via Police Magazine:
“”While we appreciate the President’s proclamation to have our flag flown at half-mast in honor of our fallen Dallas police heroes, I respectfully request that he demonstrate his full respect for their ultimate sacrifice by illuminating the White House in blue. Actions speak louder than scripted words, and the honorable act of displaying law enforcement’s ‘Thin Blue Line’ at the White House would demonstrate the President’s sincere commitment to our fallen heroes and their families.”
For the record, the White House was also lit up pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month back in 2013 as well, but nothing for those tasked with preserving, upholding, and defending our great Republic. Isn’t that nice?
Although while Obama refused to honor our fallen heroes with such a simple gesture, Texas Governor Greg Abbott did, and the governor’s mansion looked awesome all lit up:

After the last few national tragedies, is there any question about Obama’s loyalties? His words may say that he stands with America and its people, but his actions tell a completely different story.
Thankfully that story ends in 192 days, if we make it that long with the way things are going.
