The decision of the Obama administration to remove Andrew Jackson from the $20 bill and replace him with Harriet Tubman hasn’t been too well received for numerous reasons, and it’s safe to say Fox News host Greta Van Susteren isn’t happy about it. During a Wednesday night segment on her show, she unloaded on “stupid” Obama over the move, and offered up a bit of advice for him and his administration.
“The Obama administration did it again … went stupid. And went stupid for no reason,” Van Susteren charged, explaining that the White House is creating a “completely unnecessary fight.”
A sentiment that many agree with, indeed. Greta then went on to offer up her own solution, which was also suggested by this reporter yesterday when the move was announced.
“Give Tubman her own bill,” she said. “Like a $25 bill. We could use a $25 bill. Put her picture on that and we could all celebrate.”
Such common sense seems to be lost on Obama, which suggests that this was an intentional move in order to start trouble – something Obama is and will be known for throughout his presidency. Greta agrees as well, and she argued that he’s more focused on stirring up conflict than trying to bring our nation together.
“That’s the smart and easy thing to do,” she said. “But no, some people don’t think and would gratuitously stir up conflict in the nation. That is so awful, and yes, dumb.”
Yes, it is dumb. It’s dumb to the core and there’s truly no explanation for it, other than Obama wanting to intentionally poke white America in the eye and stir up racial conflict leading into November’s election to increase the Democrats’ shot at keeping the White house.
Why else would he replace a white man on our currency with a black woman, rather than create a new bill altogether so we can keep our history and traditions alive?
