California Sen. Kamala Harris, a Democrat, appears to be gearing up for a 2020 run as she seems to be trying to make it into the news with more frequency, which happened today during a Senate Intelligence Hearing.
Harris, who’s the former California Attorney General, was questioning Assistant Attorney General Rod Rosenstein about special counsel Robert Mueller but absolutely refused to allow him to answer as she seemed more interested in grandstanding that finding out the truth. However, after a few minutes of her outrageous behavior, N.C. Sen. Richard Burr brutally shut her down in front of her colleagues in order to restore some sort of order to the hearing.
From the Daily Caller:
Rosenstein looked annoyed during her entire question, and started to respond, “He has the full independence as authorized by those regulations,” before Harris stopped him again.
Burr wasn’t interested in allowing Harris to continue to interrupt the witnesses and cut off her speaking time so Rosenstein could finish his response.
“The senator will suspend. The chair is going to exercise his right to allow the witness to answer the question,” Burr said to eye rolls from Harris. “The committee is on notice to provide the witnesses the courtesy, which has not been extended all the way across, extend the courtesy for questions to get answered.”
“Mr. Chairman, respectfully, I would like to point out that this witness…” Harris started yet again.
“Mr. Rosenstein, will you … the senator will suspend. Mr. Rosenstein, would you like to fully answer the question?” Burr offered.
That’s how it’s done. Harris was beyond rude to Rosenstein, as were her Democrat colleagues before her, and she deserved to be smacked down a couple of pegs. Regardless of your political leanings, treating people like that just isn’t acceptable.
Good for Sen. Burr for calling her out on it. It’s about time these childish liberals are dealt with accordingly.
