Some stories are just bizarre, and what happened in Georgia recently is one of them. A burka-clad Muslim woman beat an American patriot using Old Glory, and the response from cops was as troubling as you can imagine.
According to police, 30-year-old Aisha Ibrahim was walking through the words dressed in traditional Islamic attire, when she emerged near the Lawrenceville home of Dami Amo on Tuesday morning. The Smoking Gun reports that Amo told police that when she first spotted Ibrahim, all she could see were her two stone-cold eyes peering out from behind the burka, and without warning the crazed Muslim woman yanked the American flag from Amo’s mailbox and attacked.
The falg was attached to a four-foot-long PVC pipe, but that didn’t stop Ibrahim from ripping it out of place and proceeding to swing it wildly at Amo, hitting her numerous times as her two children looked on in horror.
When the two children stepped into the fray to help their mother, Ibrahim removed one of her shoes and beaned one of the teenage girls in the head with it. A neighbor then spotted what was happening, and quickly intervened to get Ibrahim under control as they awaited police.
According to The Smoking Gun, despite Ibrahim’s anti-American motive being rather obvious, police had quite a troubling response:
Ibrahim was arrested on a pair of battery counts and was booked into the Gwinnett County jail, where the above mug shot was snapped. A third misdemeanor charge was later filed against Ibrahim after police determined that she gave them a phony name (Amina Ali Ahra) when busted.
Police have not determined a motive for the alleged flag attack.
Worse yet, Ibrahim wasn’t even charged with a hate crime.
In a Facebook post, Arno expressed frustration that Ibrahim is not facing a hate crime charge. “A muslim women tore my flag pole down this morning and attacked me and my daughter with it after the fight she was charged with simple battery 2 counts nothing else no hate crime no destruction of property no criminal trespassing nothing,” Arno wrote.
In a post this morning, Arno uploaded a photo of a sweater-clad Fred Rogers with the caption, “Mister Rogers didn’t adequately prepare me for the people in my neighborhood.”
The troubling aspect of this is that if the situation were reversed, hate crime charges would have happened almost immediately, along with an outcry from the social justice crowd that spanned from coast-to-coast. Meanwhile, not much has been made of this incident, and the woman responsible is getting off with charges that amount to a slap on the wrist.
Isn’t that lovely?
