CNN is in trouble as of late…big trouble.
The Democrats’ propaganda network was recently busted by Breitbart News publishing very fake news about Anthony Scaramucci, an ally of President Trump, for which they were forced to issue a retraction and actually apologize to Scaramucci, and the hits just keep coming.
In a follow up story, Breitbart reported that CNN’s President Jeff Zucker refused to comment on the scandal, and gave no reason as to why.
But then, after calling this episode “an embarrassing moment for CNN,” Stelter dropped a neutron bomb on his own employer: He revealed that CNN is refusing to comment on or explain the matter, even to CNN.
“The truth is, there’s still a lot we don’t know,” Stelter wrote. “On Saturday and Sunday I asked CNN PR for details and comment. A network spokeswoman declined to comment as of Sunday evening.”
Stelter called for a full accounting of what went wrong so CNN can learn from its significant mistakes.
However, as the tailspin continues for the beleaguered network, more bad news is being reported by the Daily Caller. After month of pushing the Russian conspiracy without any factual evidence whatsoever, CNN’s vice president has stepped in and forced its “reporters” to get approval from him directly before publishing or reporting anything to do with the Great Russian Ruse.
Higher-ups at CNN are cracking down after another botched story regarding President Trump and Russia.
The network retracted and deleted a story late last week that claimed Anthony Scaramucci, who served on Trump’s transition team, was under FBI investigation for a meeting he had with a Russian executive. That story, which was based on one unnamed congressional source, was false.
“No one should publish any content involving Russia without coming to me and Jason,” CNNMoney executive editor Rich Barbieri said in an email obtained by BuzzFeed. “This applies to social, video, editorial, and MoneyStream. No exceptions.” The “Jason” referred to in the email is a vice president at CNN, according to BuzzFeed.
How humiliating is that for CNN? Their executives are now having to demand from their reporters that which is taught in the first semester of journalism school – verify your sources before reporting – because they’re so bloodthirsty for our President they’ll publish the most outrageous hearsay they can find if it means he’s harmed by it.
This is an entirely new low for American journalism. At least CNN appears to be trying to correct the problem, for what it’s worth…
