Yesterday, James “Mad Dog” Mattis spoke publicly for the first time since President Trump ordered airstrikes against a Syrian airbase, and when a reporter tried embarrassing him on live TV she found out the hard way that Mattis doesn’t play around.
With Mattis heading the Defense Department, America will be safer than it’s ever been. The battle-hardened, non-nonsense Marine Corps general isn’t the type to shy away from a challenge or cower in the face of adversity, and by projecting his strength he’s putting the fear of God into our enemies.
However, a reporter at yesterday’s press conference thought she would be cute by trying to embarrass Mattis by questioning whether or not he’s afraid of Russia’s threats of retaliation, should America find itself having to slap around Assad again.
Suffice it to say, his response was classic Mattis.
“The Russians have been very clear in their rhetoric,” said the reporter. “They’re saying that another response like you launched on April 6th would be [crossing] the red line for them.”
“How are you so confident that this isn’t going to spiral out of control?” she asked.
Mattis was clear and concise in his reply, and even included a veiled threat to the Russians.
“I’m confident the Russians will act in their own best interests,” Mattis explained, “and there’s nothing in their best interest if this situation spirals out of control.”
Boom! Spoken like a true badass.

I don’t know about you, but I feel ten times safer with Mattis at the helm of our Defense Department, especially after eight years of weak and feckless leadership from the Obama administration.
