On Tuesday, a reporter for the Public News Service ambushed Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price and Kellyanne Conway in the West Virginia capitol building, and he never expected what came right after.
Dan Heyman was waiting for Price and Kellyanne Conway to enter the building so he could ask them questions about the House-passed healthcare reform bill when things took an interesting turn after the pair finally arrived. Heyman, apparently feeling entitled to get the answer to every question he ever asks, invaded the personal space of Secretary Price, who was surrounded by the Secret Service, and you can guess how that turned out.
When Heyman refused to relent after repeatedly shouting questions at Price and Conway while shoving his phone in their faces, he was promptly arrested by the Capitol Police.

Of course, the left is already trying to spin this into the “creeping fascism” meme, thanks to a press conference Heyman held after being released on a $5,000 bond. According to The Hill, Heyman claims innocence and neglected to mention his overly aggressive tactics in questioning the President’s cabinet members.
From The Hill:
According to Heyman’s account, he waited for Price to come into the building and then reached past those accompanying Price with his phone and repeatedly asked his healthcare questions, adding that a number of other reporters wanted to bring up the issue of preexisting conditions.
He said capitol police at some point “decided I was just too persistent in asking this question and trying to do my job and so they arrested me.”
He couldn’t remember how many times he asked the question, he said, but he added that it is his job to ask questions, expressing disbelief that he was arrested.
“First time I’ve ever been arrested for asking a question. First time I’ve ever heard of someone getting arrested for asking a question,” he said.
However, his account differs from that of the police. Local reporter Jessica Guay reported that police say Heyman was arrested after “aggressively pushing by Secret Service agents,” which is a big no-no when it comes to those they’re protecting.
The criminal complaint says Public News Service journalist Daniel Heyman was arrested after aggressively pushing by secret service agents.

So it appears that Heyman is trying to play the victim card even though he was the instigator. In other words, this is more fake news attempting to spin the narrative that President Trump is trying to destroy the First Amendment when the reality is this guy invaded the protection zone of the Secret Service and was treated accordingly.
