Former White House resident Barack Obama did many things while he occupied the highest office in our country, but perhaps the most damaging was his effect on the court system.

Throughout his tenure, Obama appointed hundreds of judges to federal courts around the country, thus giving liberals an advantage in the lower courts. On Saturday evening, a federal judge issued a stay on President Trump’s executive order barring people from seven different nations from entering the U.S., and now we know why the judge blocked a perfectly legal action authorized by the Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1952 – it was politically motivated.

Fox News is reporting that Judge Ann Donnelly of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York issued an emergency stay on Trump’s executive order that prohibits the U.S. government from deporting anybody who landed in America with a valid visa.

A federal judge in Brooklyn, New York issued an emergency stay Saturday night that temporarily blocks the U.S. government from sending people out of the country after they have landed at a U.S. airport with valid visas.

The order barred U.S. border agents from removing anyone who arrived in the U.S. with a valid visa from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen. It also covered anyone with an approved refugee application. The Department of Homeland Security said that more than 170 people were denied entry to the U.S. as of Saturday night, according to Reuters.

While Donnelly feels she was acting within the law, the law actually states that the president has the unilateral authority to prevent anyone he believes to be a threat from entering the country. In fact, the Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1952 specifically grants the president the authority, by proclamation, to suspend immigration from anyone for any reason, for any length of time.

Check it out:

Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.

The language is quite clear, however, that didn’t stop Donnelly from interfering with the official duties of the president, and we have a pretty good idea why – Judge Donnelly was appointed to the bench by Barack Obama. Not only is she an Obama appointee, but she was put on the bench at the recommendation of none other than N.Y. Sen. Chuck Schumer, a far-left political hack who’s promised to stand in the way of any and all actions President Trump takes while in office.

The Brooklyn Eagle has more:

Donnelly was nominated to be a federal judge by President Barack Obama on the recommendation of Sen. Charles Schumer. On Friday, she had the oath of office administered to her by Chief Judge Carol Bagley Amon, and Judge Pamela K. Chen bestowed the ceremonial gavel to her as the newest judge in the court.

“We are indebted to Sen. Schumer for recommending Ann Donnelly and all of the other outstanding recent appointments,” Bagley Amon said. “She takes the seat vacated by Sandra Townes when Judge Towns took senior status — seat No. 10, created in 1978.”

Nice, eh? Donnelly is one of 329 judges that Obama put on the bench during his eight years in office, and judging by her decision Saturday night she’s going to be a thorn in the side of the Trump administration whenever a case makes it into her courtroom.
