The start of the Republican National Convention wasn’t short on excitement with the last attempt from the “Never Trump” crowd being shut down and incredible prime time speakers, one of which was former Navy SEAL Marcus Lutrell.
Luttrell inspired the book and film Lone Survivor, and he delivered an impassioned speech to the audience about protecting our nation and taking care of our veterans. But about halfway through it, the badass veteran decided to ignore the teleprompter, and he delivered a message that political elites on both sides of the aisle can’t be too happy about, Breitbart News reported.
Directing his comments at politicians from both parties, Luttrell told the crowd that it’s up to us to make sure they’re looking out for America and its people.
“Hold them accountable for every position and office they hold,” Luttrell said. “Either way, the only way we survive this is together, not apart. The only way for life to matter is if every life matters.”
Trump’s appeal to the masses has been his willingness to take on the establishment elites, who have sold our nation out at every turn. He’s also been shunned by numerous prominent Republicans because he has the balls to say they haven’t done a good job at standing up for the American people.
Luttrell expanded on that attitude, and said the last thing these elites wanted to hear.
“To the next generation, your war is here, you don’t have to find it,” Luttrell said, continuing to ad-lib. “Who among you will love something more than you love yourself? I challenge all of you to fight for this country and each and every one of us.”
Luttrell was speaking from the heart, and his comments were more powerful than anything anyone could have scripted for him. He’s a true American and a patriot, and he believes that we can make our nation a better place if we all try a little harder.
We would be wise to heed his advice.
