In the aftermath of the Orlando night club shooting that claimed the lives of 49 innocent Americans, the media has been in a frenzy doing everything possible to convince America to go along with banning the sale of the beloved AR-15 sporting rifle, but there’s a major issue with what they’re doing.
The shooter didn’t use an AR-15 to gun down his terrified victims.
No, when a crazed Islamic radical walked into the Pulse night club in Orlando, Florida, he wasn’t carrying the most widely-criticized rifle in recent history, despite the media continually reporting that he did. Apparently he was using a rifle that doesn’t even have any interchangeable parts with an AR – a Sig Sauer MCX carbine.
Yeah, apparently the mainstream media has gotten it wrong, yet again.
Bearing Arms reports:
The rifle used by the Islamist terrorist in Orlando was instead a Sig Sauer MCX carbine, a modular, multi-caliber (able to swap to different calibers, including 5.56 NATO, 300 BLK, and 7.62×39) rifle system that sometimes utilizes STANAG magazines common to more than 60 different firearms, but otherwise has no major parts that interface with AR-15s in any way, shape or form.
Of course, reporting the truth wouldn’t go along with the narrative that the shooter, whose name I’ll never be using unless absolutely necessary, went and “easily purchased” a “high-powered, military-grade” rifle that he used to take innocent lives. But hey, why let the facts stand in the way, right?
A report from InfoWars took screen shots of numerous left-leaning media outlets and their headlines following the attack, and boy is their bias showing.
Isn’t that lovely? With most people merely skimming through headlines, it’s no wonder so many Americans are grossly misinformed on so many issues.
But while the media is doing everything possible to assist Obama, Hillary, and the rest of the far-left Democrat Party with their quest to ban certain weapons because Obama’s incapable of keeping the country safe, Americans are showing where they really stand on the issue. Stores across the country have been selling AR-15s at a near-blinding pace since the attacks, with one store in Georgia reportedly selling 11 per hour before selling out of stock completely.
Unfortunately it’s not just the public who’s grossly misinformed when it comes to guns either. During his lecture to America about how we need to forfeit our rights because terrorists are bad, Obama claimed that the Glock the Orlando shooter was carrying with him during the attack “had a lot of clips in it.”
Clips, huh? Sorry, but if you’re not informed enough to know that firearms have ammunition magazines, then you certainly have absolutely no authority to be telling us which ones we should and shouldn’t be able to own.
