Megyn Kelly had a rough year in 2016.
Her issues started after she tried to torpedo Donald Trump’s campaign by asking him a heavily loaded question during the first presidential debate, and things just went downhill from there. After several months of contentious relations with Fox News, the network that propelled her into the spotlight, she has some game-changing news that’s going to forever change the dynamic of Fox – she’s leaving for good.
According to the New York Times, Kelly is headed to NBC News, the champions of fake news and propaganda.
More from the Times:
Megyn Kelly, who arrived at Fox News 12 years ago as a television news neophyte but rose to become one of its two biggest stars, has decided to leave the network to take on a broad new role at NBC News for an undisclosed amount, people briefed on the negotiations said on Tuesday.
The NBC News chairman, Andrew Lack, wooed Ms. Kelly away from Fox News by offering her a triple role in which she will host her own daytime news and discussion program, anchor an in-depth Sunday night news show and take regular part in the network’s special political programming and other big-event coverage.
It’ll be interesting to see how her ratings fare after she’s not following powerhouse Bill O’Reilly in his 8 p.m. time slot. But regardless, there’s bound to be a lot of conservatives who are quite happy over the recent announcement.
Now let’s see who Fox chooses to replace her. Maybe Tomi Lahren?
