If there’s anything this election cycle has been, it’s over the top with insults and attacks on personal character, and it appears as if they’re not going to stop any time soon. A leftist Facebook page posted a troubling picture of Donald Trump’s wife, Melania, and they did so to make a ridiculous comparison to Michelle Obama.
The latest meme hitting social media depicts Melania from almost 20 years ago during a photo shoot on her future husband’s jet, and it’s paired next to a picture of Michelle Obama shortly after her husband was inaugurated in 2009. The word in the caption of the meme is “hypocrisy,” and whoever create it is somehow trying to compare the abundance of skin Michelle showed in her first official picture as First Lady to a modeling shoot from 20 years ago, as if somehow they’re the equivalent.
Check it out:
The meme reads, “Here’s Melania trump with a gun, thong & boots. Remember when Republicans complained about Michelle Obama’s arms?”
It’s intended to be a dig at conservatives after Michelle Obama, for the first time, worse a sleeveless dress in her official White House photo. People were upset because they thought that Michelle was dressed to casually for such a photo, considering that at the time she was officially representing our nation to the rest of the world.
Unfortunately, the picture of Michelle would be the first of many from the Obamas that would show their lack of respect for the highest office in the world, some of which depicted Barack Obama with his feet sitting on the desk in the Oval Office.
Meanwhile, the picture of Melania was from a 2000 photo shoot, which was five years before she was married to The Donald and had any clue she would ever become the First Lady of the United States. So comparing her picture with Michelle’s isn’t only ridiculous, it’s a complete misrepresentation of why people were upset with Michelle to begin with.
Besides, if one were to dig deep enough they’d likely find a photo from Michelle’s past that wouldn’t sit too well with the general public, since all of us have them.
