A new survey of American Armed Service members is out and the results are rather surprising.
The Military Times conducted the survey across all five branches of the Armed Services, and apparently our brave men and women in the military overwhelmingly support one candidate – Donald Trump. In fact, Trump holds a commanding lead over Hillary Clinton with 54 percent of respondents saying they would cast a vote for him while a mere 25 percent said they’d cast a ballot for Clinton, and 21 percent said they weren’t voting at all.
This is good news for The Donald. What’s even better news is that he also beats our Bernie Sanders with 51 percent support while Sanders has just 38 percent.
The Daily Caller has more on the survey:
When divided by party affiliation, partisanship becomes clearer. Democrats, at 72 percent to 8 percent, prefer Hillary. Republicans, on the other hand, chose Trump at 82 percent to 6 percent. Interestingly, independents opted for Trump at 40 percent to 32 percent.
Officers were more likely to support Clinton, yet Trump still won out at 46 percent to 32 percent. Among enlisted servicemembers, Trump easily won at 58 percent to 21 percent.
Military Times conducted the informal, unscientific survey from May 3-6. The sample size consisted of 951 active-duty troops. Broken down further, the total is comprised of 66 percent enlisted and 34 percent from the officer corps.
Apparently, the incessant attacks against Trump’s inexperience in office has done little to dissuade military members from supporting him. Then again, with their other option being Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders, both of whom would continue with Obama’s horrible policies, it’s easy to see why a successful businessman who speaks up for the military often would be their number one pick.
Let’s just hope their ballots don’t get lost this time around.
