The 2016 election is long over after Hillary Clinton’s campaign crashed and burned harder than the Hindenburg, but the efforts to learn her actual activities while Secretary of State are still alive and well.
Hillary and her minions put forth an effort to stonewall unlike anything seen in recent history, and emails released by Judicial Watch on Thursday reveal the reason she tried so hard to hide her activities from the public. The watchdog group published some 1,200 pages of State Department records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, including 29 newly discovered emails from the former Secretary of State that were sent through unsecured channels.
Judicial Watch specifically targeted the emails from Hilary’s top aide, Huma Abedin, that contained official State Department business,” and the discovered even more evidence that both Hillary and Abedin sent and received classified information outside of the government’s secured servers. Additionally, the emails revealed that Hillary’s largest donors were the recipients of special favors – a violation of both ethical and legal laws governing the secretary’s behavior at the time.
On top of revealing Hillary’s illicit activities while serving our country, the emails also exposed the fact that Hillary’s top aides and advisors were worried about her frail health as early as 2010, a full six years before she ran for president and denied having any health issues. The latest email dump contradicts previous statements by Hillary and her staff that she didn’t send or receive classified information on a private server, that she wasn’t involved in “pay-to-play” schemes, and that her health shouldn’t have been a concern for the American people if she were to be elected.
“These emails are yet more evidence of Hillary Clinton’s casual and repeated violations of laws relating to the handling of classified information,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton, “The Justice Department should finally begin an independent investigation into the Clinton email matter.”
One such email was from 2010, when Hillary’s then-Deputy Chief of Staff Jake Sullivan sent messages to the private accounts of both his boss and Abedin that were classified by the State Department since they included information “to be kept secret in the interest of national defense or foreign policy; foreign relations or foreign activities of the US, including confidential sources.”
The information mentioned was in relation to “former GTMO [Guantanamo] detainee Binyam Mohamed” and Mohamed’s request for “various classified intelligence documents” containing American intelligence information related to his detention prior to being carted off to Camp Delta in Cuba.
The former Secretary of State’s “final schedules” with specific details concerning her locations – information kept confidential for security reasons – were also sent to the unsecured emails of Clinton Foundation employees, Doug Band, Margaret Steenberg, Terry Krivnic, and others, before being forwarded to Abedin’s personal, unsecured email account.
Another email between Clinton friend and then-Ambassador Capricia Marshall, Abedin, and Band in 2010 revealed Marshall had asked the other two recipients to assist her in planning Hillary’s funeral. Marshall noted that, “once affirmed it will be very hard for someone to deny the type of ceremony she [Hillary] wanted – as well I understand that the President can request certain arrangements for her that she/her rep cannot (ie if you want the motorcade to go through DC – stop somewhere).”
