As Americans struggle to keep their jobs and put food on the table for their families, the Obamas are living it up at the taxpayers’ expense during the last year of Barack Obama’s term. The First Family held a dinner for Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and their daughters were wearing dresses so expensive that even Donald Trump would balk over their purchase.
While surrounded by socialists and people in love with redistributive economic policies, the Obama family spared no expense in ensuring that they had the best of the best for every aspect of the formal dinner. Barack and Michelle donned their usual attire, but their daughters truly went above and beyond in the selection of their dresses, which combined cost more than most people make in a year.
Yeah, according to MailOnline, the First Daughters were donning dresses from New York City’s finest designers, and they’re not even old enough to vote yet. Spoiled much? Then again, maybe they just wanted to keep up with the numerous celebrities also invited to the event.
MailOnline has more:
Malia, 17 and Sasha, 14, both donned ballgowns costing almost $20,000 each by New York-based designer Naeem Khan as they attended the dinner, which was being held in honor of Canada and its dashing new liberal leader, Justin Trudeau.
And Mr Trudeau took the time to praise the girls for growing up in the spotlight as he delivered his speech.
Older daughter Malia, who is in her final year at High School wore a beige strapless gown from the Naeem Khan pre-fall 2015 collection, which comes with a $17,990 price tag.
She styled her hair in loose curls over one shoulder for the event and was seated next to Grey’s Anatomy actress Sandra Oh.
Meanwhile Sasha opted for a high necked chic semi-sheer black dress from the Naeem Khan Resort 2016 collection, costing $19,990, and wore her hair in trendy double braids.
She sat next to her aunt, President Obama’s sister Maya Soetoro-Ng and her uncle, Konrad Ng and close to actress Blake Lively.
Isn’t that just awesome? Here most people can barely afford to pay their bills, and these two are running around celebrity-filled events wearing dresses that cost more than the average new car. Meanwhile, their father gets on TV and lectures the rest of us about sacrifice and how it’s up to all of us to pay our “fair share” so that others, who put as little effort into life as possible, can live off the government dole.
Hypocrisy much? I’d say.
And people say the Obamas are more like regular people than any other First Family in history? Please.
Regular people show modesty and humility. Regular people don’t go crazy spending other people’s money. Regular people don’t live like kings and queens.
