Obama Gives Okay For Bald Eagles To Be SLAUGHTERED For Next 30 Years

Bald Eagles are a favorite among Americans as they’re both our long-time national symbol and a majestic bird of prey. Up until 2007 they were on the List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife, but were removed after their population made it above the threshold requiring their protection. Despite their being endangered for decades, Barack Obama has just given the okay for their slaughter over the next 30 years, and the reason why is absolutely infuriating.

Obama doesn’t seem to have any issues with the destruction of historic national symbols, such as the Confederate Battle Flag, so it stands to reason that he’d approve of handing out permits to wind farms that would lead to the deaths of thousands of Bald Eagles every year, which is exactly what he did. In the name of “conservation,” the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is pushing for giving 30-year permits to wind farms that would essentially lead to the senseless slaughter of thousands of Bald Eagles a year.

No, really.

MRCTV has more on the enraging move:

In support of President Obama’s renewable energy plans, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are pushing for giving 30-year permits to wind farms that would forgive them for thousands of eagle deaths expected within that frame of time.

Wind energy companies have pressed for these long-term permits, arguing that the current five-year permits leave “too much uncertainty and hampered investment.”

Under the plan announced Wednesday, companies would be allowed to accidentally kill up to 4,200 bald eagles annually via their wind turbines without repercussion — nearly four times the current limit.

Wind farms consist of fields stock full of massive turbines standing as tall as 30-story buildings with blades as wide as a passenger jet’s wingspan. The tips of these blades can reach up to 170 mph and create tornado-like conditions around them.

Yet somehow, the Obama administration claims that allowing wind energy companies to kill the eagles will somehow “further conservation” of the bald and golden eagle.

Isn’t that something? Making the situation even more enraging is that the government is telling the lie that permits allow them to better track the deaths.

“The permitting system gives us access to eagles and eagle mortalities that we wouldn’t otherwise have,” an unnamed source told ABC News. “It’s a great mechanism for us to work proactively to prevent eagle deaths.”

Fish and Wildlife Service Director Dan Ashe said that this is “good news” because the plan is a “a great tool to work with to further conservation of two iconic species.”

Despite the Bald Eagle being taken off the endangered species list just nine years ago, the Fish and Wildlife Service seems to think that its population of roughly 140,000 birds could sustain an annual death toll of 4,200 without threatening its existence. In other words, it’s pretty much sanctioning the senseless slaughter of the Bald Eagle in the name of environmentalism.

This isn’t the first time the Fish and Wildlife Service pulled this same stunt either. In 2013, the agency also tried to push the identical plan, but conservation groups took it to federal court and a judge rejected it. Apparently, just like Obama, the people within the Fish and Wildlife Service care not what the courts say and they do whatever they want anyway.

But imagine for a second, if you will, if say a coal or an oil company were killing 4,200 birds of any type in a single year, what the reaction would be from both environmentalists and the Obama administration. If you guessed there’d be heavy regulation to ensure they can’t kill the birds any longer, you’d be right, but since this is a “green” initiative, the wind farms are getting a free pass.

Don’t you just love the consistency with a left-wing government? /sarc
