Last week, Barack Obama took off on Air Force One for another apology tour for America, and one of his stops was in the communist nation of Cuba. After widely touting his trip, where he rubbed elbows with a brutal dictator, as a success, his new pals made him look like a complete and total fool.
While Obama was watching baseball with Raul Castro, the leader’s father, Fidel, was apparently stewing at the fact that an American president came to his nation and had the gall to tell them how to run their country. On Monday, the former dictator came out of hiding to lash out at our apologist-in-chief, and he undermined just about everything that Obama said while he was in the island nation.
“Listening to the words of the U.S. president could give anyone a heart attack,” Castro wrote in an op-ed for the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party’s official newspaper, the Free Beacon reported.
“Nobody has any illusion that the people of this noble and selfless country will surrender glory and rights and the spiritual wealth that has come through the development of education, science and culture,” he wrote.
“We don’t need the empire to give us any presents,” Castro said.
Castro also took aim at Obama’s notion that Cuba was “built in part by slaves… from America,” and that both nations can “trace their heritage to both slaves and slave-owners.”
“Native populations do not exist at all in Obama’s mind,” Castro wrote and poked at Obama’s youth. “Nor does he say that racial discrimination was swept away by the Revolution; that retirement and salary of all Cubans were declared by this before Mr. Barack Obama turned ten years old.”
Castro ended his scathing letter by warning Obama shouldn’t inject himself into Cuban politics.
“My modest suggestion is that he reflects and doesn’t try to develop theories about Cuban politics,” Castro wrote.
Social media didn’t take long to blast Obama for having “egg on his face.”

For the record, the elder Castro and Obama didn’t meet face-to-face while Obama was in the country because Castro said his health wasn’t “good enough.” However, judging by his brutal essay, even if the two men did meet, it probably wouldn’t have been a very friendly engagement.
But let’s give credit where credit is due – Castro sees right through Obama, and he’s more than willing to call him out for being a phony. It’s not often we can agree with brutal dictators, but this time, Castro hit it out of the park.
