Last night, The Obamas hosted the Prime Minister of Singapore and his wife for a State Dinner at the White House, and Michelle’s dress is what everyone seems to be discussing.
Although after looking at it, it’s easy to see why. Her counterpart, Ho Ching, dressed in an elegant, Oriental-styled dress that was both modest and classy, but we can’t say the same for Michelle.
While the position of First Lady is often associated with class and style, Michelle Obama was devoid of both last night as she looked to be wearing a bed sheet with a toilet bowl ring cresting the top. The strapless dress exposed her hulk-like frame and made it appear as if she was a lineman for the Carolina Panthers.

According to the Daily Caller, the dress cost anywhere from $3,500 to $7,000, and it was designed by Brandon Maxwell, the same stylist who provides wardrobes for Lady Gaga. However, for a stylist he really missed the mark on this one.
“A very proud moment for me and my team,” Maxwell said on Instagram alongside a photo of Obama.
“With this visit, we’re celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations between our two nations,” Obama said. “Yet, even as we mark this anniversary of our formal ties, we honor bonds that stretch back at least 180 years when Singapore was still a colony and the United States was not far removed from being one ourselves.”
Probably the only good thing that can be said about the dress, aside from the fact that we’ll thankfully never have to see her in it again, is that at least it didn’t cost tens of thousands of dollars, as others that she’s worn in the past have.
