Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson has long been a Ted Cruz supporter, and he even campaigned with him during the primaries, but that was then and this is now, and now he thinks old Ted needs to get over himself.
Appearing on Fox & Friends this morning, the Robertson family patriarch commented on the speech that ended in Cruz being booed off the stage, and like many others, he believes it’s time for Ted to swallow his pride and get behind the Republican candidate.

“I mean give me a break Ted. Go ahead and endorse the man,” Robertson said. “I mean you lost, he won.”
“I think Cruz is a terrific guy, strict constitutionalist, he’s not the most bubbly guy I’ve ever run across, if you understand what I’m saying,” Robertson quipped. “I love that dude but all the guys who lost and gals, they all need to swallow their pride and say the people, the Republican Party has said Donald Trump is the man we want in the White House.”
Indeed. While Cruz may not have actually hurt Trump’s chances of getting into the White house, he did renege on his pledge to support the eventual nominee, and it makes him look really bad.
Plus, Trump was the choice of the people, and in not supporting him, Cruz is basically flipping off the millions of people who voted for the billionaire in the primaries with his take the ball and go home attitude. We get it, it was a tough contest and losing sucks, but even the fiercest enemies in the ring can shake hands before walking away, it’s time for Cruz to man up and do the same.
