Coming into Thursday night’s GOP debate, former presidential candidate and proven loser Mitt Romney announced he was going on the offensive against Donald Trump in an attempt to derail his dominating campaign. However, he should have been a little more careful about his criticisms. There’s a video going viral that he didn’t want to get out.
On Wednesday, Romney announced that he would be delivering a “state of the 2016 presidential race” address that viciously excoriates Trump as a “phony” who’s been deceiving the American people. But knowing that Romney, the failed GOP candidate from 2012, was going on the attack, Trump preempted his speech with an attack of his own, and it’s rather damning.
The first shot across the bow from Trump was a tweet questioning how Romney, who couldn’t pull together a win against a horrible president, could possibly be advising conservatives on who to vote for this time around.
Looks like two-time failed candidate Mitt Romney is going to be telling Republicans how to get elected. Not a good messenger!

Since stepping into the presidential scene, Romney hasn’t held back on his criticisms of Trump. Last month, he accused the billionaire of hiding a “bombshell” in his tax returns, and has made numerous appearances on news networks accusing The Donald of flip flopping on issues.
Unfortunately, he forgot about his own past. Enter Trump with a video he posted to Facebook.
In an attempt to soften the blow from the former Massachusetts governor, Trump posted the video, “Mitt Romney Not Conservative,” which had the message “We will make America great again,” and it’s quickly going viral.
In just 12 hours, the video has been watched almost a million times, and it’s garnered almost 10,000 shares. After seeing it, there’s little question as to why.
Romney, like many others in the establishment, appears determined to derail Trump’s campaign at any cost, which is a direct slap in the face to millions of conservatives trying to send a message to the GOP that they’re fed up, and it’s antics like this that are the reason. After all, this is the same party leadership that couldn’t pull off a win against a one-term senator with a shady past, and couldn’t unseat the same man after four years of horrible policies and two record-setting elections for Republicans.
Yet they think they know what’s best for the party and its constituents? Yeah okay.
