National retail chain Target isn’t shy about getting into the political sphere, and unfortunately, it usually sides with whackadoodle liberal ideas. Such is the case with its latest announcement, and it has customers absolutely enraged.
In a not-so-surprising move, Target announced it’s going to allow transgender customers to use the restroom they “identify” with, the safety of their customers be damned.
CNN has more:
Target said Tuesday that transgender customers at its stores are welcome to use the bathroom that matches their gender identity, the latest corporate reaction to a wave of legislation seen by critics as anti-LGBT.
“We welcome transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity,” the retailer said. “Everyone deserves to feel like they belong.”
In a statement, Target (TGT) said that it had considered how the legislation could affect its business, guests and team members.
“Given the specific questions these legislative proposals raised about how we manage our fitting rooms and restrooms, we felt it was important to state our position,” the company said.
Reactions to Target’s announcement were mixed.
“That means I won’t be using your bathrooms or dressing rooms in the future,” said one commenter from Indianapolis. “May have to rethink some other things too.”
Awesome, huh? While most of us can agree that how someone dresses isn’t really anybody’s concern, the very real possibility that a pervert of pedophile could exploit such rules to prey on young girls and women is, and it’s already been happening around the country.
In this reporter’s opinion, Target is going to lose a lot of business from this move, and it’s going to be hard to blame people for choosing to not go there. After all, if you’re a woman or a parent, the last thing you want is to risk being in danger from simply going to the bathroom, which is supposed to be the one place we’re all entitled to our privacy, even in public.
What’s odd is that the left accuses the right of waging a “war on women,” meanwhile, they push for policies like the above while at the same time pushing to disarm women. I wonder if they even realize the irony in what they do.
