Last night news broke of the Obama administration sending out a “decree” threatening schools with federal funding if they didn’t allow transgendered students to use the bathrooms and locker rooms of their choice, and people weren’t too happy about it. One Texas school district isn’t about to take the threats lying down, and its superintendent has the perfect solution.

We previously reported that the Obama administration was using Title IX funding to essentially extort schools into compliance over the new guidance from the Departments of Justice and Education. After rewriting the definitions in the law, Obama seems to think that he can force his agenda down every publicly-funded school in the country, but it doesn’t look like people are going to tolerate his abuse of power this time around.

Almost immediately after the news broke, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott lashed out on Twitter against Obama’s executive overreach promising to push back against his government goons trying to strong-arm educators in his state.

It wasn’t just Abbott either. When Port Neches-Groves School District Superintendent Rodney Cavness found out about the new decree, he flat-out said there’s no way in hell his district is going to comply with it. According to 12 News, while Cavness doesn’t want anyone to be discriminated against, he also puts the safety of his students above everything else.

“He ain’t my President and he can’t tell me what to do. That letter is going straight to the paper shredder. I have 5 daughters myself and I have 2,500 girls in my protection. Their moms and dads expect me to protect them. And that is what I am going to do.”

Cavness also spoke with common sense about the issue, which is something seriously lacking from the Obama directive.

“Now I don’t want them bullied,” Cavness said. “But there are accommodations that can be made short of this. He is destroying the very fiber of this country. He is not a leader. He is a failure.”

Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse also lashed out against Obama and his unwillingness to even acknowledge states’ rights.

The short answer is no. And this latest push comes right after Obama’s Justice Department announced it was filing suit against North Carolina over its so-called “bathroom bill” that requires people to use the restroom of their natural-born sex.

However, much like with everything else Obama does, this smells more like a smoke and mirrors trick to distract us from something else he’s doing, or has done. In fact, given the speed in which this new directive was issued, it wouldn’t be surprising in the least if it was done to change the news cycle after Obama’s speech writer, Ben Rhodes, admitted to lying to the public over the horrible Iranian nuclear deal in order to gain enough favor for it to go through.

It seems like whenever Obama is about to come under fire for something that upsets the American people, he does something himself to take attention away from it. This time around, it’s an order he knows is illegal in order to avoid scrutiny over blatantly deceiving the American people, or at least that’s what it would seem to me.

After all, it’s much easier to argue with the public over something as trivial as bathrooms then it is to defend your motives behind completely deceiving everyone using Goebbels-like propaganda to sell a nuclear deal nobody wanted. Isn’t it?

Think about it, now everyone is discussing the bathroom laws, and within 24 hours the Rhodes story will have been forgotten and Obama will have once again skirted responsibility. That’s how this guy works – he’s the master of deception on a grand scale.
