On Wednesday, the prosecutor tasked with deciding whether or not to charge Donald Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, with battery after he grabbed Michelle Fields at a campaign event said he’s not charging him with any crime, and the alleged victim had a rather troubling reply.
Politico reported that Lewandowski won’t be charged over the incident, which many people thought was an elaborate hoax to inflict as much damage as possible on Trump’s campaign. While one would think that the prosecutor’s decision should signal the end of the story, they’d be wrong.
Prosecutor's office told me they would inform me of decision tomorrow. If reports true, guess they decided to leak to reporters first. Ugly.

Apparently, since Fields was unable to get charges pressed against Lewandowski, she’s instead going to file a lawsuit against him and Trump for defamation, according to TheBlaze. Not only that, when Fox News host Greta Van Susteren tweeted that Fields shouldn’t file a suit because she wouldn’t be able to win, Fields turned around and accused her of being a “shill” for Trump.

Free legal advice to Michelle Fields: don’t bring a civil lawsuit https://t.co/pfx43rHOpQ

In a link attacked to the tweet, Greta explained:
“Anyone encouraging Michelle Fields to bring a civil law suit is not doing her a favor. She does not want to take the stand in a civil case, subject to rigorous cross examination, that is likely to be on television to discuss a case that the DA won’t prosecute because he does not believe the evidence shows assault. Yes, the burden of proof is less in a civil case, but she is just not going to win and it will be expensive and a heartache.”
Here’s how Fields responded:
Isn’t that nice? Apparently, the saga is going to continue… for now.
