Protesters in Portland, Oregon were given a taste of what law and order looks like in President Trump’s America last night after blocking traffic in an unpermitted demonstration against the new president.
Portland Police in riot gear responded to the scene and wasted absolutely no time in taking charge of the situation, a video posted to Facebook shows. Bystanders were recording the protest when police can be seen quickly approaching the area, and as one person screams “here they come!” police are seen flattening all of the protesters as the crowd cheers them on.
Check it out:
As police take the trash out of the streets, a man is heard yelling “take them all down!” repeatedly. An older women is also seen in the video giving police a thumbs up while telling them they’re doing a good job.
In total, six people were arrested in the protests, which the Oregonian reports was planned without being permitted so that police didn’t have a heads up. Police had previously used fore on a large group protesting Trump, so they wanted to gather in smaller groups to make it harder for police to be able to stop them.
Either way, it’s hard not to think the actions from police are the direct result of our new president and police once again feeling empowered to fight crime without having to worry about the Justice Department investigating them.
