The Never Trump crowd worked their absolute hardest to take out the presumptive GOP nominee while Sen. Ted Cruz and Gov. John Kasich were still in the race, and some of them are still even trying. However, it may not have been the best idea they had after Trump’s plan for revenge was leaked.
Breitbart News is reporting that campaign aides and close allies of the billionaire are pushing him to go for the throat of his detractors and hit them where it hurts the most – in the wallet. Yeah, apparently they’re trying to get the consultants and vendors blacklisted from lucrative general election contracts, which would undoubtedly put a dent in their bank accounts.
Here’s more from Breitbart:
As Trump moves to work in closer concert with the Republican National Committee apparatus, some campaign aides and allies are pushing him to block lucrative party contracts from consultants who worked to keep him from winning the nomination, according to four sources familiar with the discussions.
“The Never Trump vendors and supporters shouldn’t be in striking distance of the RNC, any of its committees or anyone working on behalf of Donald Trump,” said a Trump campaign official.
Ouch. Apparently the campaign seeks to target those who worked for Never Trump groups and even some who worked for his political rivals or their pauper PACs and were exceptionally nasty to him. It would be a nice kick in the ass for the corrupted consulting class that’s been ingrained in establishment politics for decades, and serves as a sweet bit of turnabout or those who were told their political careers could be damaged by aligning with Trump.
Not only is this a taste of delicious revenge against those who worked so hard against Trump, but it’s also a wise business move based in common sense. After all, who would want to hire people who have openly expressed their contempt for you?
I’m sure I speak for a lot of people when I say, take that, elitist scum!
