The leaks from this White House just never seem to stop, but the latest massive leak to the Washington Post better lead to someone going to jail, because it’s bad.
Since he took office, President Trump has been subjected to a record number of leaks from his administration, likely from Obama holdovers and deep state operatives working to undermine him whenever they can. So far, there’s been at least one illegal leak of classified information for each day the President has been in office, with the total now being over 125.
The Washington Free Beacon reported:
“Since President Trump assumed office, our nation has faced an unprecedented wave of potentially damaging leaks of information,” according to a new report published by the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.
“Under President Trump, leaks are flowing at the rate of one a day,” according to the report, which notes that “under President Trump’s predecessors, leaks of national security information were relatively rare.”
These leaks, often of highly classified national security information, are meant to undermine President Donald Trump’s administration and handicap his national security apparatus, according to sources inside and outside the White House familiar with the situation.
The leaks are becoming increasingly dangerous, according to both the report and separate sources, and are now endangering sensitive U.S. operations abroad.
Indeed they are. Now, the Washington Post just published a report full of classified information that is harmful not only to the President, but to future presidents as well.
Apparently, someone from inside the White House leaked the entire transcripts of phone calls President Trump made to Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull…yes, the entire transcripts.
The Post outright admits they had been “reviewed and classified” by retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg, Jr., who serves as chief of staff on the National Security Council, but yet they published the transcripts almost in their entirety despite the fact it’s harmful to our nation interests abroad. After all, what world leader is going to want to have frank conversations with any president if they know the contents of the call will be leaked to the press?
That’s not to mention, actively sabotaging the duly-elected president is a remarkably selfish and dangerous strategy. These leakers and the reporters who gleefully publish the information are making a public mockery of the White House, and in turn eroding faith in our government, regardless of what their motivations are.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions is set to make an announcement on Friday concerning the Justice Department’s investigations into those leaking classified information. With any kind of luck, the person who leaked these transcripts to the Post will be on the top of his list.
In the meantime, it’s time for President Trump to go through and fire every single Obama holdover and Never Trumper in his administration, immediately and without prejudice. These people are trying to take him down, and the longer they’re allowed to stay within the administration, the better chance they have at achieving their goal.
