Wikileaks has had a devastating effect on Hillary Clinton’s campaign thus far, but the latest email dump might just be the final nail in the coffin.
An utterly shocking exchange between John Podesta, Hillary’s campaign chair, and former Clinton administration official Bill Ivey on March 13, 2016 reveals exactly how Hillary’s campaign feels about their constituency, and to be quite honest it’s a terrifying look into the minds of Washington’s elites. Ivey has a long history with the Clintons, and now he’s a “trustee” of the Clinton campaign front Center for American Progress, according to his bio.
Ivey expressed his concern to Podesta that Democrats were panicking over Donald Trump’s “celebrity politics” persona, which Hillary couldn’t match if she tried. Hillary, Ivey lamented, is “not an entertainer, and not a celebrity in the Trump Kardashian mold,” putting her at a disadvantage to Trump.
Their biggest issue, according to Ivey, is that they’re unable to throw money at the problem and make it go away, as they’re often used to doing.
“Money isn’t all that important if you can conflate entertainment with the electoral process. Trump masters TV, TV so-called news picks up and repeats and repeats to death this opinionated blowhard and his hairbrained ideas, free-floating discontent attaches to a seeming strongman and we’re off and running.”
Further along in the email, Ivey pondered how Hillary would be able to combat Trump’s appeal because he doesn’t believe that simply “defaulting to policy” is going to work this time around. What he said next should terrify everyone, including Democrat voters [emphasis mine].
“And as I’ve mentioned, we’ve all been quite content to demean government, drop civics and in general conspire to produce an unaware and compliant citizenry. The unawareness remains strong but compliance is obviously fading rapidly. This problem demands some serious, serious thinking – and not just poll driven, demographically-inspired messaging.”
Just so we’re perfectly clear here; Ivey admitted that the left has “conspired” to produce “unaware and compliant” voters, meaning it’s favorable to them to have uninformed minions who pull the lever for Democrats like they’re told. His issue is that people aren’t as easily manipulated as they used to be, and figuring out how to make people “compliant” again “demands some serious, serious thinking.”
This email provides a shocking, and terrifying, look into the minds of those working within the Clinton campaign and how they feel about their voters. Apparently, the American people are merely sheep in their eyes, and must be herded in the proper direction.
