Earlier this week, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders announced he’s starting the fight to get single-payer healthcare implemented in the U.S., and around the same time, Hillary Clinton revealed the sickening truth about Obamacare.
According to The Atlantic, the socialist Sanders unveiled his plan to “fix” the healthcare system Democrats destroyed to begin with by passing Obamacare, and his solution is centered around Euro-style socialism where the government pays for and regulates everything health-related. Under the plan, Medicare would be widely expanded to give “universal” coverage for all Americans, and as it turns out, this was the plan all along.
In an interview largely ignored by the mainstream media, Hillary Clinton spoke to Vox’s Ezra Klein about Obamacare and what it was intended to do from the start. As many warned when it was passed, she explained that it was designed to pave the way for a single-payer system, much like Sanders and others in his party are pushing for now.
“[Obama was] getting us on the path to universal health coverage with the Affordable Care Act,” she said.
The communist-style system was praised by Clinton, who advocated for expanding Medicare and Medicaid to cover all Americans.
I’m for universal health care coverage that is high-quality and affordable for every American, and I think there’s a lot of ways of getting there that I’ve advocated for; to open up Medicare, to open up Medicaid. …
Maybe we would start with something resembling single-payer plus other payers, like some other countries that have universal coverage and are much better at controlling costs than we do, primarily in Europe. …
Our goal should be universal health care coverage. Universal, affordable, quality health care coverage for everybody, bar none.
The problem is you can only have two of the three of her wishes; either affordable, high-quality, or universal. However, this seems lost on the failed presidential candidate, who also wants to put in place the same kind of price controls that destroyed the vaccine industry during her husband’s tenure as president.
She also admitted that public dependence on government “freebies” is a huge advantage for Democrats. According to Clinton, people “had gotten used to” Obamacare, and taking it away is going to be all but impossible, which was by design.
When it came time to take something away that people had gotten used to, everybody said no. And that’s my larger point about what our goal really is.
You’re gonna tell 50% of America, “You’re no longer gonna have employer-based health care,” you’re gonna have massive resistance by people who are gonna say, “I’m happy with what I’ve got.”
Because of this, Clinton is all for expanding Medicare and Medicaid until everyone in the country has “free” healthcare, which she said is “thrilling.” Although she failed to disclose how the roughly 47 percent of the nation who actually works is going to be able to pay for everyone else to have healthcare coverage.
But if you say … we need to lower the age for Medicare … and we need to continue to expansion of Medicaid, we will be at universal coverage. Then once we’re at universal coverage and people know what that feels like. … I think it’s thrilling.
Medicaid has become very popular, even in Republican states, because it does save money and it is a universal program below a certain income level, and it takes care of middle income people. … I think we should be politically, realistically, and aspirationally on continuing the expansion of Medicaid … and making the political case every day for as long as it takes.
At no point did she even mention the free markets, which have yet to fail our country, as a solution for improving our healthcare system. Instead, she pushed for a “national plan” for healthcare, even dismissing “state-by-state” systems that could be tailored to the needs of each state’s residents.
If it hasn’t been abundantly clear from the start, now it should be clear as day that Democrats passed Obamacare to intentionally tank our healthcare system so they could usher in their communistic plan to both increase their voter base and control the healthcare decisions for our entire nation. As we’ve seen in the past, the left is extremely patient with its ideas, and Obamacare was just another incremental step toward their dreams of totalitarian control over the country and its people, all under the pretense of “helping” the lesser well-off.
