On Sunday, a man pledging allegiance to the Islamic State terror group (ISIS) walked into an Orlando night club and murdered 49 people in the worst terror attack in our country since 9/11. Following the heinous attack, reports surfaced that the leader of ISIS had been killed himself, and if so, we should throw a nation-wide party.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been reportedly killed, but we should all hope it’s the last considering he’s the mastermind behind the most brutal terror organization the world has ever seen. According to MailOnline, Middle Eastern media outlets are saying that a U.S. airstrike took out the evil self-proclaimed caliph, and they’re apparently awaiting confirmation from sources on the ground that it’s true.
More from MailOnline:
His death, reported by the respected Turkish daily Yenis Safak, would be a major blow for the jihadists and comes only days after 50 people were killed in an Orlando nightclub by a man pledging allegiance to ISIS.
But there have previously been reports that al-Baghdadi, who proclaimed himself caliph of all Muslims two years ago, has been killed or wounded, which turned out to be untrue.
The Abna24 website said al-Baghdadi had been killed on Sunday morning by an air strike in Syria.
However, there has been no confirmation of his death by the US or any other coalition powers, who have been targeting the terror group in Syria and Iraq.
Again, let’s just hope this is true, because it would be poetic justice if he were killed just hours after one of his sympathizers killed and wounded over a hundred Americans.
